When a hail storm hits our region, most local roofing companies can’t handle the workload that is suddenly available.  Contractors from outside the region called “stormers” or “storm chasers”, often using high pressure sales tactics to get your business, not looking out for the best interest of the home owner.  Be cautious of these type of contractors because once the workload dries up, they disappear. They move on to the next storm, not available to warranty their work.  This is where D&M Roofing Company sets itself apart from the others.

We are a local contractor serving the Red River Valley and beyond since 1985.  We have seen roofing companies come and go, and we often perform service calls on leaks from homes roofed by storm chasers.  We have the resources available to adequately handle all of the customer’s needs. Long after the storm has passed, we’ll be there.

D&M Roofing works very closely with the local Insurance Companies, agents & adjusters. In fact, some even use our pricing schedule. When they estimate the cost for repair, they expect that’s what the cost will be for homeowner to get the work done, including their deductible.

The Insurance Companies then expect us to perform the work for the amount listed – that’s why your Scope Sheet says “show this form to your contractor”. If we propose to do the work for less, they think that they should award less to the Homeowner then. But they are using a regionally adjusted software program called Xactimate, that calculates the anticipated costs & expenses w/ an allowance for Profit & Overhead.

Net Cost; Most Companies settlements have a hold back for Recoverable Depreciation, which is only paid if the work is performed. However they will only pay up to the amount of a repair invoice submitted (minus deductible) or their Scope Sheet amount, whichever is less. The Homeowners Net Cost is always their deductible. If it is done for less, the Insurance Company will pay less.

Because D&M is an established local roofing company with a good relationship with the Insurance Companies, we choose to honor their practices & will perform the repairs for their prices. This also means we will not attempt to hide the deductible by submitting a fictitious invoice for the repairs.

We might lose some jobs because of our philosophy, but we still be in town long after some of the other companies are gone.
